From Durham and the North leave the A1(M) at Junction 60 and take the A689 (Bishop Auckland). At the first major roundabout take the A167 (Newton Aycliffe). After approximately 2.2 miles turn right at the traffic signals on to the B6443 Central Avenue. The Aycliffe Town Centre is on the right hand side on Central Avenue after passing the Tesco Extra store and Magistrates Court. From Darlington and the South take the A167 (Newton Aycliffe) from the A1(M) Junction 59. At the junction with the B6443 turn left on to St Cuthberts Way and stay on this road until it becomes Central Avenue. The Aycliffe Town Centre is on the left hand side on Central Avenue



Aycliffe Town Centre is accessible by bus on regular services from Durham, Darlington and Peterlee.

Newton Aycliffe Railway Station sits on the Northern rail line from Bishop Auckland to Darlington where it connects with the main East Coast services from the North and the South. The railway station is approximately 20 minutes’ walk to the Aycliffe Town Centre

Safety and Security

At Aycliffe Town Centre we have a very close working relationship with the security services and police to ensure that we have well-rehearsed and flexible plans in place to deal with any incident. Should a customer see anything suspicious or wish to report a security concern please alert a member of the of the Town Centre staff. You can also report in confidence to the police online at or telephone 0800 789 321. In an emergency always call 999.

Alternatively if you have a problem or need to report an incident then please call the Town Centre Management Office on 01325 300605 or visit the Office, which is located up the spiral staircase on Beveridge Way and left along the walkway. The Centre Management Office is open 9.00am to 3.00pm each weekday.

Code of Conduct

We kindly ask visitors to refrain from riding bikes including electric and scooters. Please dismount and walk them through the Town Centre.

If you have lost anything in the Centre or the multi storey car park we could possibly help. In the first instance please contact us by email stating (1) the lost item and when and where you think you lost it (2) your name (3) your contact details to Or you can telephone the Centre Management Suite on 01325 300605 between the hours of 9.00am and 3.00pm on Monday to Friday. Wherever possible we will try to reunite you with the lost item.
