Get Your Christmas Started at Aycliffe Town Centre!
Friday 27th November 2026
Christmas is coming to Aycliffe Town Centre! Join us on Friday 27th November for a fantastic day of festive fun as we celebrate the start of the Christmas season with our annual Christmas Lights Switch On.
There’s plenty happening throughout the day, with our Christmas Indoor Market running from 10am until 7.30pm, giving you the perfect opportunity to browse festive gifts, handmade crafts and Christmas goodies.
From 4pm, enjoy our Festive Street Food Market and Festive Bar, with a great selection of food and drinks to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.
There’s lots of entertainment planned for all the family too, including a mischievous Christmas Elf on stilts, street entertainers, face painting with Wilma, a photographer and Christmas carols performed by local choirs. BubblePlay will also be bringing balloon modelling and bubbles from 4.30pm onwards.
Santa arrives at 5pm! Come along and visit Santa in his grotto, say hello to his reindeer and enjoy a little Christmas magic. Santa visits are FREE for children accompanied by an adult, while stocks last, and every child will receive a gift.
Then, at 6pm, join us for the big moment as we switch on our Christmas tree and lights, lighting up Aycliffe Town Centre for the festive season.
To finish the evening, gather around the fire pit, toast some marshmallows and enjoy the festive atmosphere with family and friends.
